Ultrafiltration has many applications in the dairy industry for the standardization and concentration of milk and whey proteins and for the reduction of lactose in milk.

The ultrafiltration process, applied to the whey, gives the means to obtain a concentrated with a very high content of proteins and a low lactose and mineral salts rate.
